WE'RE HAVING A BABY...

Well as I briefly mentioned in our last post, our trip to Visit Glen in April was a fun filled successful trip. What I failed to mention at the time was just how successful that trip really way ;-) YES...Glen and I had decided once he got the job with Behr Paint we would start trying for baby #2 (he started the job December 1, 2009) unfortunately his job required him to move to Virginia which only meant our plans had to be put off until we were together again as a family. Well...Jillian and I joined Glen in Virginia on May 1st, on May 3rd we took a pregnancy test and it was confirmed just how successful our trip to Virginia really was.

Glen was the first to discover the positive test sitting next to the sink. As Glen came out of the bathroom he had one of biggest smiles on his face and tears in his eyes, he proceeded to show me the test, and so our real adventure here in this beautiful state of Virginia begins.

This week we are officially 20 weeks pregnant, we are at the half way mark. Not only are we at the half way mark, but our sonogram just confirmed "IT'S A BOY!!!! Jonas Gregory Gause is due to join our/his family January 2, 2010.

We are all (especially big sister Jillian) super excited!!!

Hello everyone! First I would like to apologize for such a long hyades, however many thanks for all that have encouraged me to get back to blogging. It goes without saying that in the past four (+) months the Gause family has gone though many exciting changes, and unfortunately I had to neglect Jillian blog. I got so far behind that I even questioned whether or not I would have it in me to continue and catch up. I am hoping that pictures will speak louder than words...ENJOY.

Before May 1, 2009 Jillian and I tried to squeeze in as much time as possible with our friends...In April Jillian and I took a trip to Virginia to visit Glen for Easter and do a little house hunting (which was a huge success ;-) . While we were on our mini vacation, we went to DC (on three separate occasions), we were fortunate enough to be there as the Cherry Blooms were blooming. We were also fortunate enough to be able to go up into the Washington Monument...it was definitely a pretty exciting, adventurous and fun filled trip. April 30, 2009....the day we moved out of 305 Woodgreen Lane, Winter Springs, Florida Jillian was the last to lock and shut the door. Mother's Day 2009, Glen and Jillian took me to camden yard to see a Baltimore Orioles Vs. New York Yankee baseball game. Jillian has always had a love for horses, so when given the opportunity for her to take private lessons we immediately signed her up.

While driving home from work tonight, I heard the most amazing song entitled "In My Daughter's Eyes". It seriously brought tears to my eyes, the words really spoke to me in a way that I have never felt before, and so I had this incredibly overwhelming need to include this song and these pictures to Jillians blog.

Today Jillian is officially 3 1/2 years young. Most half-birthdays go unremarked, but they may still be celebrated as a special day and that's exactly what we do in our family (well at least for Jillian). So yesterday Jillian and I celebrated her half birthday at Aquatica.

Last week we meet up some friends for yet another fun day at Sea World. Let me apologize in advance for more SEA WORLD pictures...I just can't help myself ;-), this is our happy place we go there often. However this trip we were joined with not one but four of Jillians friends, so it was not just any regular day at Sea World it was special. Not to mention it was our good buddies Gavin and Mrs. Katy's first time at Sea World.

Mead Gardens 2nd Annual Great Duck Derby

Today Jillian along with her friends Gavin, Wyatt, Preston, Sarah and Macy had a wonderful day at Mead Gardens for their annual Great Duck Derby. The kids all purchased a rubber duck and then got to duck-orate them, there were duck races , musical performance by Mr. Richard, there was an animal encounters sponsored by the Central Florida Zoo, they got to go on a hay ride, have their face painted and there was also a bounce house...but best of all the kids had great fun just running around hanging out with each other. The Greatest Show On Earth

Today we went to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Jillian was absolutely mesmerized from the moment we stepped in the doors. We arrived one hour early for their all access pre-show, where Jillian was able to interact with some of the clown and circus performers as well as see an elephant that paints!

Jillian was under the impression that the pre-show was the circus...she was pleasantly surprised and very excited when we got to sit down and watch the actual show.

At the end of the show Jillian said "Mommy when I grow up, I want to be in the circus ." It's not called "The Greatest Show On Earth" for nothing...I highly recommend this show for all ages, it was truly amazing.

Christmas 2008

Let me first start out with a very heart felt apology for not sending out Christmas cards this year. Due to circumstances out of my control, unfortunately we were unable to get ourselves together....please know that we are thinking as well as wishing everyone the best Holiday season and a very happy and healthy 2009!!!

Jillian made sure that Santa had enough cookies and milk for his long journey. Carrots and oatmeal for the reindeer. Jillian woke up at her normal 6:30 time, she was super excited (to say the least). Glen and I asked Jillian to go downstairs to check to see if Santa had come yet. Eagerly she walked downstairs and came running back up yelling "Santa came, Santa came" jumping up and down and literally putting Glen and I out of bed. The look on her face was absolutely one that we will never forget, what a cool experiences for all three of us :-).
I could not get Jillian to put down her pink dolphin to take a decent Christmas photo...can you tell she loves it? On December 26, we were fortunate to receive tickets from our bestest ( I know it's not a word, however when it comes to Tia Tia Martha one MUST make exceptions!!!) friend Tia Tia Martha for Universal Studios and Island of Adventures. We love you Tia Tia Mar-fa ;-)This ones for you Reeder Baby!!!Do you like green eggs and ham...Sam I Am? Heading on the woody wood pecker roller coaster for the third (not final) time. What a super fun Christmas gift....many many thanks Tia Tia Martha.

Today Jillian and I were graciously invited to help bake Christmas cookies with Jillians' God Mother Amanda and Amanda's family. This was seriously a fun filled ALL day event...these ladies really go all out when it comes to their Christmas cookies. Jillian and I were really enjoyed spending the day baking cookies for Santa Claus....I am sure Santa is going to love these cookies just as much as we did.Cookies and milk. What's the best part about baking cookies you may ask....eating them of course. YUMMY YUMMY in Jillybeans tummy!!! In other words deeee-licious!!!

Walt Disney World

My sister Estelle AKA: Aunt Estelle, treated Jillian and I to a wonderful day out at Walt Disney World. We saw almost every charter, we rode on almost every ride out there, and most of all we had the best time hanging out with my sister Estelle (a fun bonding experience for all three of us). I will not have to go into too much detail because as you all may suspect, I took lots and lots of picture, and pictures speak louder than words. We literally got out there as the park opened and stayed till the park closed, Jilian was such a little trouper, she did not nap, she did not get fussy and she did not want to leave.

The Elf on the Shelf

This year our family has started a new tradition called The Elf on the Shelf . Elf on the Shelf is a little elf doll that reports directly to Santa Claus. Kids can tell the elf their Christmas wishes. Here's how it works. Mr. Elf comes to visit your home during the holidays. He watches over the home and reports back good deeds to Santa each night. The next morning he comes back and sits in a new location. Your kids get to search him out each day. On Christmas Eve he returns to the North Pole and stays their until next year.

I HIGHLY recommend this tradition to anyone that has children. Jillian wakes up each morning so excited to search the house until she has found Sarah (her Elf on the Shelf), she has really gotten a big kick out of this!

Saturday Morning we heading over to the Winter Park Christmas parade. We meet up with Amanda (Jillian's God-Mother) and her son Austin (who could not possibly be any stinken cuter! ).

We really enjoyed spending time with Amanda and Austin, I was almost in tears taken this picture. Amanda is such a good person with such a big heart, Glen and I were so honored when Amanda agreed to be Jillian's God-Mother.
The parade really put us in the Christmas sprite so after lunch we headed out to pick up our Christmas tree. I let Jillian do all the work, she picked the most perfect tree...good job baby-girl. She got the biggest kick that the man put the tree on top of the car....she asked me to take this picture. Do you think she is getting use to having the camera around? Naaa we got a couple more years for that right ladies? I think I have become the crazy Mother that always has her camera out. This one's for you honey! LOVE YOU and try to stay warm.

THEN...(what a big day!) we went over to Mrs. Jen's house for our Moxie Moms ornament making party!

Who says the holidays in Florida are all about sunshine and palm trees? NOT US! Today we went to ICE at the Gaylord Palms with Mom-Mom, Mrs. Katy and my good buddy Gavin. Fun Facts About ICE!

1. Nearly 2,000,000 pounds of ice is used to create ICE!
2. Nearly 5,000 blocks of ice is hand carved and transformed into a winter wonderland.
3. 9 degrees Fahrenheit is the average temperature inside
4. 1500+ fluorescent and fiber optic lights will be frozen within the ice, creating a magical holiday experience.

Jillian's favorite part was their, slippery ice slides.

More than 18,000 total square feet of space is covered by the ICE! attraction. Kept at a brisk 9 degrees, the unique structure housing ICE! is also known as the "Florida Fridge." It is believed to be the first of its kind in North America Jillian was so cold...however she was loved every minute and did not want to leave!

After our ICE experience, we were all in need for some nice hot chocolate....Yummy!

The month of October was definitely filled with many fun actives, I will just be posting random picturess from the month of October. Sorry....life is crazy, I promise to work harder in the up coming weeks. Classes are just about to end, so I will have more time. Thanks to all those that sent reminders...it shows you care!

We went to Sea World's Halloween Spooktacular for not one but two days in a row...lots of fun, means lots of pictures. The first day we meet with two of Jillian's good girl friends Macy and Sarah. The next day we went back with daddy, so you may see Jillian in two different costumes.

Jillian's 1st. Ballet and Tap recital (for this age, it was more that we got to actually stay and watch a class). Daddy got to help Jillian with her ballet slippers. Halloween night we went to Macy's house for a night of trick or treating with some of Jillians best buds...Gavin, Wyatt, Preston, Macy, Sarah and Adam.

Ariel at the Zoo

Today we went to the Central Florida Zoo for their annual Zoo Boo-Bash Halloween celebration. Children were encouraged to wear their favorite Halloween costumes (Jillian dressed as Ariel) for a safe, “scare-free” fun day both inside the Natural Science Center and outside in the Animal Discovery Zoological Park. They had treats and gifts at all the station throughout the park, hay ride, face painting, pumpkin painting, a jump house and lots lots more.

Fall Fun!

Tonight Jillian and I meet up with our friends, Mrs. Jen, Sarah, Baby Adam, Mrs. Susie and Tavin for some the Winter Springs 3rd. annual Hometown Harvest 2008 . We enjoyed an interactive hay ride, pumpkin painting, balloon artists, face painting and much much more.

The end of a very long day!

Pumpkin Day

Sunday we went over to Ti Ti Marthas' house to make some yummy yummy in our tummy pumpkin pies...from scratch. First we cut open the pumpkin and Jillian took out all the seeds. Pound...good job! While the pumpkin was boiling Jillian planted some of the pumpkin seeds. After boiling the pumpkin and cutting off the skin, Jillian mashed the pumpkin. Cracking the eggs all by herself.

So proud. oppps...we just laughed and laughed. Obi...thanks for helping us clean it up.

Super Saturday

Our Super Saturday started at 8:30 A.m. for a Veggie Tales meet and greet character breakfast.

"Say Cheese Momma"!Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber are an unlikely duo in a world of talking vegetables. The two friends learn about honesty, kindness, and forgiveness together and Larry always has a silly song to sing. This was such a cute show with a sweet story line, and lots of entertainment. Jillian danced in the aisle and absolutely LOVED the show. We just happened to be sitting in front of one of Jillian classmates HannaAfter our show we went home for about 30 minutes for a quick lunch, and off to Macy's 3rd birthday party. I must tell you these photos DO NOT even begin to describe how much fun these kids had. HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY MACY MOORE! Here are Wyatt, Gavin, Sarah and Jillian...these guys played so hard. The boys were walking up the slide, the girls were sliding down...they would crash mid-slide and laugh laugh laugh sooo hard, this went on for hours! Wyatt, Sarah, and Jillian on the bounce house side. There they go again! Notice Jillian with her elephant, she attached herself to this elephant she calls Ellie.

Macy and Jillian relaxing after a big day of hard playing...this picture was taken at about 6:00 P.M. and the party started at 2:00....long long but fun filled day!Our day did not end there, after Macy's party we went to hang out with Sarah for a mini-sleep over.
The girls were so wired (or jacked up on sugar) they did not fall asleep until 9:00. So for those of you that were not keeping track, here is a run down of our Super Saturday. Veggie tales from 8:30-12:00...Macy's party from 2:00-6:00...then straight over to Sarah's house from 6:00-12:00 the next day. Can you say SUPER SATURDAY???

Bowling Fun!

Today we went to Firkin & Kegler for a fun day with our friend Gavin. Below are some of the picture taken...I highly recommend this place for both adults and kids. This is no ordinary bowling , there is a pub, restaurant, arcade, night life entertainment, sports bar upstairs and toddler bowling section. Thank you Katy for picking us up and treating us to a fun day of bowling.

Ballet and Tap class started tonight...

This evening, Jillian started her Pre-Ballet/Tap combo beginner class with her good friend Macy Moore at the City of Casselberry Parks and Recreation Center. Jillian was so very excited (to say the least) about her dance class, it's all I heard today...is it time to dance yet, is it time to go dance yet???? I ended up getting her dressed in her leotard, tights with her hair up in a bun and her tap and ballet shoes in a bag over an hour before it was time to leave. We live ooohhhh about 10 minutes (if that) from where Jillian takes her class, two minutes into the drive I look back and she was zonked OUT! She worked herself up with such excitement that she ended up falling asleep. Sweet baby!I woke her up totally expecting the worst...but she was still excited and ready to get out of the car and meet her teacher. Parents are not permitted to stay in the room and watch, so these are the pictures I took on my way out.

Okay here we go...emptying out the camera for the big (60+ guest) 3rd birthday party tomorrow. Jillian has had a week long birthday celebration, and I am not exaggerating in the least. Monday we spent a fun filled day at Aquatica, Wednesday she had a school birthday party followed by gifts from both sets of grandparents. Thursday was her 3 year old doctor appointment, Jillian got her ears checked, her vision checked, she got a finger prick and lastly she got a shot (not a single tear). FridayUncle Jo-Jo took Jillian to target for a new princess bike and tomorrow well… you'll just have to wait for the birthday party pictures.

Three years ago today, my dreams of becoming a mother came true. This past three years have been absolutely amazing....I could not have asked for more in life than what I have right now. I have a loving supportive husband that has allowed me to be the kind of Mother I have always dreamed of being. I truly believe that if is were not for Glen, Jillian and I would not be able to have the freedom we have to develop our special Mother/daughter relationship. Willie Nelson sums it up best with his song, "Gee, ain't it funny how time just slips away." I have tried to treasure each and every moment we have shared together as a family. I do my very best not to take what I have for granted and to be grateful for everything and everyone in my life. There is a great old saying "It takes a village to raise a child" and very true as far as I am concerned, so having said that, Jillian is the person she is today due to all our wonderful family and friends. I thank all of you who have taken part in being in Jillian's life, friends and family near and far you are the village that I am so thankful for.

We told her last night that when she woke up she would be three years old, and that was the first thing she said this morning, "IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!" We arrived at Aquatica this morning at 9:00, we practically had the park to ourselves for most of the morning. Who ever called to rent out the park for Jillian's birthday... many thanks!

We were at Aquatica from 9:00 this morning till 3:00 this afternoon...and Jillian was still not ready to leave. We had such a great day, the picture do not even begin to do it justice. Thanks for all the special birthday wished Jillian received today.

On Wednesday September 14, 2005 at approximately 9:00 P.M my water broke. Let me back up a minute, it was an early day at work so I got home around 3:00 tired and hungry (I can remember it crystal clear as if it were yesterday). I walked in the door and lay on the couch for a nap, after two hours I awoke to find some yummy Chinese food that Glen had left for me in the refrigerator. After taken a couple of bites I amusingly called him to ask him if he was trying to put me into labor because the Chinese food was very spicy. It was four hours later that I noticed my water leaking (keeping in mind that my due date was not for another 19 days), I called Glen and he rushed home we grabbed our bags and off to South Seminole Regional Hospital we went. I was in no discomfort, I was not having any contractions, and I was in great spirits totally thinking this was a false alarm. NOPE….I was in fact in labor! Other than having none of Jillian’s clothes washed (Thanks Nanny and Poppa) Glen and I were emotionally, mentally, and physically prepared for the arrival of our little princess.

I was blessed with an easy and very uneventful pregnancy and delivery. I began getting contractions around 11:00 and at 4:56 A.M. on Thursday September 15, 2005 we were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Jillian Grace Gause weighting in at a whopping 5lbs 6ozs. 19 inches long.

First Day of School

Today was Jillian's first day at Northland Cooperative Learning program. Her pre-school will be meeting 2 days a week, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30-12:30. The copperative program requires that all parents volunteer once every five weeks (there are 10 kids in her class) to be the parent helper for that day. It's a great system for getting the parents involved in the school.
Jillian was beyond excited this morning, she wanted to get dressed all by herself.

Jillian with her tote bag all packed and ready...this picture was taken oohhh about 8:15 this morning. She did not understand why we could not leave as soon as she got dressed and that school did not start until 9:30. Tennis anyone.... LOL

After greeting Mrs. Hale with a big hug, she went straight to the table for some play-doh fun. Time for Mommy to leave now....BYE BYE!

When Jillian saw me at the door, she ran up to me and said "Mommy, I LOVE school". She had a great first day, in fact she asked to go back tomorrow.

XXIX Summer Olympics

I think we may have an Olympic winner (or two) on our hands. We have really been enjoying watching the 2008 Summer Olymics together as a family, we even go as far as to DVR them so that we don't miss anything. However While watching rhythmic gymnastics portion yesterday Jillian started dancing all around our living room floor trying to keep up with the rhythmic dancers on the television. So we made her, her very own ribbon on a stick (for lack of the correct name) and had to rewind the television ohhhhh only about 20 times because Jillian was just having so much fun...and as you will see Jillian was not the only one enjoying the ribbon on a stick rhythmic gymnastics.

Tropical Storm "Fay" is moving at a very slow rate of only 2 mph, and dropping lots of rain all over Central Florida. With this constant and steady rain (3 days now) that Fay is dropping, she is begining to ware out her welcome, we are ready to see her move along! 1st. hair cut and more....

Saturday August 16, 2008 Glen and I took Jillian to see Ms. Margarita for her very first hair cut. Margarita has been my hair dresser for over 10 years so I would not or could not trust anyone else to cut Jillians' hair.

I have to admit, It was Glen's idea to get Jillians' hair cut, everyone (including myself) was questioning why, he wanted her hair cut. However as you can see from the pictures below the end result was exactly what he wanted. I am going on record now stating....Glen was right, because it looks great!

It came as no suprise that Jillian had no fear and or hesitation. She jumped right into the chair ready for her new look.

Now that summer school and finals are over, we can now get back into blogging and having fun with our friend. As you may be able to tell from our summer pics, if Jillian is not wearing a dress, she is wearing a swim suit....can you say Florida girl?

Sunday we took Jillian to the Brevard Zoo. The Giraffes were not out, but we still managed to have fun and be silly.

The rhinoceros were very active, walking and playing in the water. Jillian got a big kick out of watching them interact with each other. There were three of them, so Jillian picked one as the Momma, one as the daddy and the smaller of the three as herself Jillian Grace, she kept saying "there a family, just like us." VERY CUTE!
Jillian loved watching the river Otters, this is where we spent most of our time...we could not get her to move along. SILLY...SILLY...SILLY Love this girl...so much personality!

In order to beat the heat here in Florida, we spend most of our days either in the pool or inside where it is nice an air conditioned. So yesterday we took the Crofton girls (Katy and Rachel) to the Orlando Science Center, for 5 long (but fun filled) hours.

Yesterday we spent the day at Wekiva Springs State Park. Wekiva Springs is home to an incredible variety of wildlife including Alligators, Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Limpkins, Little Blue Herons, Tricolored Herons, Woodpeckers, Swallow-tailed Kites, Florida Black Bears, White-tailed Deer, River Otters, Fox, and numerous subtropical birds. After swimming in the cold spring water, we thought it would be fun to rent a canoe and check our some of the wildlife.

This past Friday we headed out to New Smyrna Beach for a weekend filled with fun, family, friends, and food…lots of good food. It was really great seeing everyone and having so many people come out to help us celebrate this milestone/special ocasion. I know it really meant a lot to the family to be able to spend quality time with one another. We could all go on for hours with all the great stories and fun actives we did, however I will once again let the picture speak for themselves.

This is the song Jillian and I have been singing all day, tomorrow Uncle Joe-Joe and "EE" are coming to Florida and we could not be any more excited to see them both. And just as exciting....tomorrow is Poppa's (big Glen's) 60th birthday. We will be celebrating his special day this weekend at New Smyrna Beach with the whole family. This was somewhat of a crazy weekend as far as school goes. I had two exams that needed to be finished up by today, and I managed to not only finish both exams in time, but passed both with a 98% and a 96%. As a way to take my mind off school Saturday we decided to take Wilbur to the doggie park to celebrate his 4th birthday. After Wilbur’s birthday celebration we took Jillian and Wilbur for a family picnic. Sunday after finishing my last test we had yet another family day at Sea World.

The Paw Park of Historic Sanford, is the oldest off-leash dog park in Central Florida! It's fun for the whole family.

Chia Pets are easy to grow making this a perfect first plant growing experience for Jillian. As you will see below Jillian loved watching her chia pet grow.

Yesterday we packed up and headed to New Smyrna beach for a fun filled day. We arrived at New Smyrna Beach at 10:00 a.m. and were having such an amazing time that we did not leave until 5:30 p.m. Even more impressing Jillian was so wired with excitement and talking about all the fun we had thoughout the day that she did not nap all day, not even on the way home. When we arrived home we showered and right to bed, without any hesitation (all of us ).

NO we are not pregnant. However the next best thing is...Uncle Joe-Joe is coming to see us. I made the mistake of telling Jillian that her Uncle Joe-Joe is coming to Florida and now that is all she is talking about. Let me back up for a second, whenever Jillian see's an airplane in the sky (no matter where we are) she starts yelling and pointing to the airplane "Uncle Joe-Joe, Uncle Joe-Joe come back to Florida" so cute, sweet and sad all at the same time. While Joey is in town we will be celebrating his 31st birhtday, so Glen and I took Jillian to the mall yesterday to get Uncle Joe-Joes' birthday present. Jillian insisted that we make him some muffins (blueberry muffins...Jillian loves to cook). So today we made a special trip to Publix for some muffin mix and guess what?? I forgot to get the muffin mix, that is until we were half way home and Jillian saw an airplane and began yelling for her Uncle-Joe Joe. After the plane was no longer in site, she said "Momma we forgot to get the muffin mix for Uncle Joe-Joe", I just could not drive any further, I then made a u-turn and back to publix we went.

We can't wait to see you Joey~ we all love and miss you!

Yesterday my Mom treated Glen, Jillian and myself to a 2 year Sea World and Aquatica annual passes. It was hard to take photos because I did not want to get our camera wet, however here are some of the photos that we were able to capture. The photos DO NOT do the park justice, so do yourself a favor and try to visit Aquatic. However you might want to get there early because, we drove out there again this afternoon and it was sold out! From what I understand the park has been selling out every day since it opened….which in my opinion says a lot about how awesome this water park is.

1st Trip To The Dentist.

Yesterday Jillian had her first trip to the dentist. I could not have been more proud of the way she handled herself. Going to the dentist can be somewhat intimidating for some but not for our little princess. Jillian proudly jumped up into the chair, opened her mouth and amazed not only me but the dentist assistants and Dr. King, with her willingness to participate in everything (including x-rays) that was asked of her. This was all in all a great experience her Jillian, according to Dr. King Jillian has “Happy-Healthy teeth” :-).

Today we went to the Central Florida Zoo for Jillian’s Mom-Mom (my Mom’s) 55th birthday. Mom-Mom loves elephants so we thought we would invite her to come with us to experience the elephant encounter that they offer at the zoo. It was such an awesome experience; we all had a blast and really enjoyed ourselves. As always it came as no surprise that Jillian had absolutely no hesitation about going right up to Mauld and Mary (the elephants) to feed and touch them.

Well we have gone and done it! Today we have transformed Jillian's crib into a big girl bed. AND...yes for anyone who knows me well, I did get a little (who are we kidding here A LOT) teary eyed. Jillian did not take it very well, it took two hours of her getting in and out of her bed for her to finally fall asleep. She cried, played in her room and finally crawed up into her bed and went nite-nite.

Sunday was a rainy day so my incredibly smart husband came up with a GREAT idea. Let's take Jillian to the movies. So that's exactly what we did, we went to see Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who, which I highly recommend by the way. Glen and I were both extremely impressed with not only the movie but with how well Jillian did. It was a neat experience for our whole family.

Amanda's Baby shower

Saturday was Amanda’s (who is Jillian’s God-Mother) baby shower. I would like to report that Jillian was on her best behavior but unfortunately that was not the case. It’s hard to ask as well as expect a 2 ½ year old to sit still and relax while she is watching someone else open presents. So regrettably we had to leave the shower a little early because Jillian was starting to act out. On the way home, Jillian asked if we could call Amanda to apologize, my heart just broke I truly felt as if Jillian really and truly understood that her actions caused a reaction that was not what she necessary wanted. As a parent, I have to follow through with my words or my words will mean nothing…empty promises. It was definitely tough to be hard on her and leave the baby shower because Jillian is a sweet, tender, affectionate toddler, but unfortunately a lesson had to be learned.

Sunday we went to Island of Adventure and Universal Studios

On Sunday the DeLair family had to head back home to Maryland (sniff…sniff). They were however in our thoughts when we used their unused tickets to get into Universal Studios and Island of Adventure. Its always neat to see Jillians’ face light up when she sees characters (even character that she is not familiar with). Check out the pictures to see just what I am talking about.

This past week-end was filled with FUN! On Saturday we met up with my friend Jenny and her family for a fun filled day of Animal Kingdom and MGM studios. Glen and I always said that we would wait a few more years before taken Jillian to theme parks, however when presented with some FREE tickets we thought why not lets go and have some fun. What a great experience it was not only to be able to spend more time with the DeLair family but to see Jillian run around these theme parks having an absolute blast with the DeLair girls.

My favorite sister~in~law Anabell, and her wonderful family came to Orlando for their family vacation. We were lucky enough to be able to spend some time with them while they were here. Anns' sister Kelly and Kellys' husband Eric Berkowitz have three very adorable boys Joshua, Jordan and Justin. Jillian likes to refer to them as her cousins...it's very sweet. I truly hope to be able to see more of them and spend more quality family time together in the further.

This Easter was partically special this year. Glen, Jillian and I went to Daytona Beach to spend the day with my childhood best friend and her family the DeLairs'. This was the first time Jenny got to meet Jillian, it was with out a doubt a great moment for me..sniff sniff.

Growing up Jenny and I were inseparable, we became best of friends in middle school when she first moved to Baltimore city. Jenny and her husband Bobby have three amazingly beautiful girls. The girls had a very nice time playing in the ocean, playing in the sand, flying Jillians' new kite (Thanks Nanny and Poppa), and finding not one, but four Star-fish, it was pretty cool in deed.

We hope everyone enjoyed their Easter as much as we did!

Jillian and Haley had an awesome time playing together. We all went to the Cental Florida Zoo, then came back to our house and painted, played with Jillians' water-table (Thanks "EE"), died/colored 3 dozens Easter eggs and then had dinner. It was by far a long yet very fun filled day. Haley is my sisters' best friends three year old daughter,she was very sweet little girl. This was the first time the girls had met, they hit if off right away...Haley you are welcome back anytime!

On Saturday March 15th, Jillian Grace officially turned 2 1/2 years old. So to celebrate her half birthday Glen and I thought Jillian would enjoy going to Sea World to have breakfast with Elmo and his sesame street friends. She was beyond excited and really enjoyed herself.

Unlike her Mother, Jillian love for animals goes WAY beyond cats, dogs and cute little bunnies. Let me first say how much I absolutely love and admire her innocents, however her lack of fears scares the holy heck out of me. As her mother, I have had to take a step back and let her continue to experience life and all it has to offer. I would truly like to think I do my best not to instill my fears in Jillian....as you can see from the pics below Jillian is one of the bravest people I know I will even go astep further and say Jillian is absolutely the most amazing person I know, her Daddy comes in a VERY close second LOL. I would also like to add that these are my sisters' pet snakes these snakes are use to being handled, Glen and I WOULD NEVER allow Jillian to play with snakes (or any animal for that matter) that we did not 100% feel were safe.

What a fun filled week-end! Jillian (well to be honest all of us) was beyond excited that Uncle Jo-Jo was coming all the way from Virginia to see us. On Friday Jillian and Uncle Jo-Jo were able to spend some quality one on one time together they went to the mall and then to the park. On Saturday Joey came along with Jillian and I for a birthday party at Monkey’s Joes jump house and had a blast, it was fun to see the two of them together and loving every minute. On Sunday the family all went out on Poppas' boat to go fishing. Even though the fish were not biting we still had a nice relaxing time before Uncle Jo- Jo had to catch his flight back to cold snowy Virginia later that evening. Thanks for coming to see us Joey we all love and miss you!

On Sunday we slept in till 7:15...WOW if you know anything about our little Princess~Jillian Grace, you know that, thats late for her. We woke up had a nice relaxing morning and then headed to Orlando to see Jillian’s God Mother Amanda Wiley. Glen and I have known Amanda going on 8 years now, she is a great friend and we all love and adore her. Amanda is due to have a baby (it’s going to be a surprise) in May and we could not be more excited for her and her husband Frank. During our visit, Amanda took us to a fun doggie park (Jillian loves dogs) and water park, the weather was beautiful, Jillian had a blast playing in the water.

Glen had a birthday party to go to in Miami (Happy 30th Tyson) so he was gone most of Saturday and Sunday. Jillian and I made some fun plans of our own and hit the road ourselves. Saturday we hooked up with Lindy and Macy Moore and went to Sea World (surpise~surprise), Jillian and Macy decided not to nap and so we spend a good 5-6 hours at Sea World having lots of fun. On our way home both girls crashed, I was able to bring Jillian in the house, wash her up, get her in her pajamas, put on her night time pull-up and put her to bed without her wakening up…now can you say WIPED OUT :-).

Valentine's Day

Happy belated Valentine’s Day to everyone! The Gause family had a nice day. Jillian had a Valentines party in the morning then we went to see daddy at work to bring him some yummy treats. In the evening, Glen and I went out to the Van Halen concert, which was more fun than I thought it would be. I don't know why I wouldn't think it would be fun, but I alway have fun when I go out with my Valentine...I love you honey! It was a great Valentines date. Ti Ti Martha and Tio Jon came over to hang out with Jillian for the night. They were Jillian’s 1st ever babysitters (outside of family) and Jillian had a blast. She was so excited and so amped up that she did not go to bed until 11:30, and do you think she would sleep in???? NOOO Mommy’s little Valentine woke up with the sun at her normal 6:15 time.

Two Little Monkeys' Jumping In The Crib!

Jillian and Baby Sam have become very close friends over the past 6 months. We get to play with Sam on Mondays and Tuesdays, Jillian wakes up in the morning asking to play with baby Sam, she calls him her little buddy. Now that Jillian is no longer napping she likes to come with me to wake Sam up from his morning nap, Sam also enjoys having Jillian wake him up. When he sees her he jumps right up ready to play. I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I am that Sam and Jillian love each other as much as they do. Sam's Mom Erin and I went to high school together, Erin, Glen and I all worked together and Erin was my Maiden of Honor in my wedding, so as you can tell Erin is a close friend of ours.

IPEZ

Jillian along with two friends Preston and Wyatt went to IPEZ on Friday. Ipez is a fun indoor facility for kids like Jillian, Preston and Wyatt because they love jumping, climbing, sliding as well as all the fun obstacles courses. It’s a great place to go when the weather is yucky.

Orlando Science Center

The weather was kind of rainy on Thursday so we decided to go to the Orlando Science Center this morning. We met up with Ava Colet, one of Jillian’s friends for a play date. The girls don’t really get to see each other as much as they would like so getting them together is always a nice treat. Jillian was super excited to ran around and show Ava all the fun things there is to do at OSC.
Because Jillian has chosen to take a later (NOT LONGER) nap we were able to stay at OSC until 2:00, I thought for sure Jillian would nap on the way home but……NOOOO! When we got home we went up for a nap and for the second time this week she was not tired and therefore did not want to nap, after 45 minutes of trying I told her it would be okay for her rest time to be over, she was showing no signs of wanting or needing a nap :-{ . I believe she is starting to wean herself from her naps (my only 45 minute break), however having said that Jillian is really getting into independent play, she willingly goes to her room and plays or reads books which, is very nice for all involved.

Lake Lilly Park

When I first moved to Florida, I lived with my cousins in Maitland, where I soon discovered Lake Lilly Park. Still to this day (20 years later), Lake Lilly remands my favorite park. Yesterday daddy was not feeling well so I decided to take Jillian to feed the birds, ducks and turtles. We spent nearly 2 hours there having such a great time interacting with all the very (almost too) friendly animals, playing on the playground and running on the bridge. As no surprise Jillian had no fear, in fact she was encouraging the birds and ducks to come closer as she feed them by hand.

Today we went to the Central Florida Zoo with some of Jillian’s friends Wyatt, Preston and Kaden. Jillian favorite thing to do at the zoo is feed the animals. Today was extra special not only because three of her best friends came with, but because she finally got to feed her favorite animal….Clarice the llama. For some unexplained reason Jillian loves llamas, perhaps it has something to do with her book, lama llama red pajama. Whenever we go to the zoo Jillian always head right to the petting zoo area and straight to Clarice, Claire however does not care to eat the treat they sell. With her four quarter in her pocket, Jillian likes to buy the Zebus, goats and sheeps some food, she has no fear and feeds them all without any hesitation. Jillian has been talking about her great experience all day; she even had to call daddy on the way home to tell him all about it…..how cute.

Sea World

This past Saturday we spend the day with Susie and Tavin Herbet at Jillian’s favorite place…Sea World. For the first time we rented one of their strollers for the kids to ride in and boy was that a great idea. Tavin and Jillian loved the independence of getting in and out as they pleased; it was all around a great experience. The kids were able to ride on all the rides, touch Kelly the horse and feed the sting ray, see the dolphins, the penguins, the sharks and best of all watch the Shamu show. This was Tavin’s first time at Sea World and Jillian’s 100th time so Jillian was able to give Tavin and Mrs. Susie a first class tour.

Jillian and our 3 1/2 year old Boston Terrier Wilbur have become the very best of friends. When referring to her family, Jillian says “Mommy, Daddy, Jillian Grace and Wilbur”. Wilbur is definitely been considered a part of our family since the day we brought him home. Jillian loves to feed him, walk him, hold him in her lap, help to give him baths and of course give him his treats. Before giving Wilbur his treats her takes the treat into the living room, tells him to sit and then roll over, then and only then will she give him is treat. If you ask Jillian what her job/ responsibilities are she will tell you that her job is to let Wilbur out of his crate in the morning. Jillian also enjoys having Wilbur go on wagon rides with her; she loves to include him in all actives, including tea parites and barbies. We have become quite the regulars at the doggie park on the week-ends. Jillian and Wilbur have definitely become the best of friends, and we couldn't be more pleased :-).

Make Believe

For Jillian's 2nd birthday her Ti-Ti Martha and Jon got her a Sleeping Beauty Princess outfit. This princess outfit has opened many doors to her imagination. For Christmas Santa brought Jillian Cinderella, Belle (Beauty and the Beast), and Snow White princess outfits....now she refers to herself as princess Jillian. Jillian enjoys wearing her out-fits with all of the accessories anywhere and everywhere we go. If we are reading a book about the Three Little Bears, she refers to herself as baby-bear, me as Momma bear and Glen is poppa bear. If we are reading books about elephants Jillian likes to refer to herself as a baby elephant, a chicken she is a baby chicken...the list goes on and on. We just absolutely love this stage (as we have them all LOL). Everyday is a new day and another character, if you try to refer to Jillian using her name, she will be the first to correct you, "NO, thank you, Momma I am Cinderella.. Glen and I strongly believe that when Jillian uses her imagination she is showing a healthy way of growing into her own identity. Glen and I do our best to try an encourage Jillian to be the person she is meant to be, we try not to discourage her from using her fun imagination, we just enjoy it and go with the flow. ISN'T THAT WHAT PARENTS ARE SUPPOSE TO DO?

As all 2 year olds, Jillian loves participating in any and all kinds of arts and crafts. The messier the better! She has an easel with four sections, two for painting and two for chalk. Jillian loves to both paint and finger paint every day. We believe she loves the independence of dipping the brush into the paint and making beautiful pictures for her family and friends. She also enjoys her sidewalk chalk while playing on our front porch. Glen and I feel that arts and craft are an essential part of Jillian's development so we try to make arts and crafts a part of her everyday activities.

Gymnastics

Jillian has been taken gymnastics at "The Little Gym of Oviedo" for well over a year now (thanks nanny and Poppa). She absolutely loves it and is doing extremely well. Jillian's favorite activity to do at gymnastics are the bars, Jillian hangs on the high bars and can kick her feet up to the top of the bar. Jillian also enjoys the balance beam, the tumbling mat and all of fun obstacles course they have to offer. Jillian had her 2nd birthday at The Little Gym, and still 4 months later talks about her fun birthday party.

Football! Football! Football!

Well if you ask Jillian who the number 1 team is this year, she will tell you the Miami Dolphins, ah the innocents of childhood. Maybe next year now that Parcells has taken charge, and completely changed the team. So since the Dolphins are not playing we will be watching the Patriots play the Charges and the Packers play the Giants. We will be cheering on the Packers and the Chargers for todays games, we can't be having the Patriots with a perfect season, that honor should remain with the Dolphins!!!

Glen and I are looking forward to yet another wonderful adventurous year together (15 years and counting). Jillian Grace has brought so much more to our lives than we could have ever hoped or dreamed of. Glen will be turning 34 this month, one year till the big 35!!!
